Our Journey
Over the Years
2018
Conceptualisation
IHSC was conceptualized in 2018, and through a grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a small group of researchers were engaged to transform this concept into reality.
2019 onwards
Research and Policy Engagement
2019 onwards IHSC began addressing pressing policy inquiries pertinent to India’s healthcare system. This endeavor entailed the initiation of a close and collaborative relationship with key decision-makers within the healthcare sector.
2020
Registration
As the concept continued to evolve successfully and with a growing track record of collaborative research and policy contributions, IHSC officially obtained legal registration as an entity in October 2020.
2020-21 onwards
Capacity Building
IHSC directed its focus toward fostering a tightly interconnected network of health system researchers in India, centered around capacity building initiatives with reputed academicians. Elevating knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovative thinking within the research community emerged as central priorities during this period.
2022
HPSR Papers/Special Issue published
In 2022, IHSC reached a significant milestone with the publication of an array of Health Policy and Systems Research (HPSR) papers in a Special Issue in the Scopus indexed IIHMR’s Journal of Healthcare Management, published by SAGE.
2023 onwards
Community Building
2023 onwards While continuing efforts on collaborative research and policy advocacy, IHSC shifts its attention to “Community Building” within the realm of health system research in India. Promoting knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration, and nurturing innovation within the research community take center stage as critical objectives during this phase.
